Minecraft Skin Editor

Draw and edit your skin directly on the 3D model

How it works

  • You paint on the model, not a flat map. Click a body part and the pixel under the cursor takes the colour - the 64×64 sheet is filled in for you, so you never work out which square is the left shin. Drag to turn the model, scroll to move in.
  • Four tools, and the eyedropper is the one you lean on. Pen sets a pixel, the eraser clears it back to transparent, fill floods a run of one colour, and the eyedropper lifts a colour already on the skin so the next stroke matches instead of guessing a hex.
  • Body and overlay are two layers. The base is the skin; the outer layer is the hat, jacket and sleeves that sit a hair proud of it. Paint the wrong one and the work hides under the other - the toggle says which you are on, and a warning fires the moment you paint with a fully transparent colour.
  • The preview is the file. What turns in the viewport is the PNG that downloads; there is no separate export step, so a stroke lands on the model as you make it.

Good to know

  • Classic is a 4-pixel arm, slim is 3. The same 64×64 file - only the arm columns differ. Set it to match the model you will wear, or the arm paints a column wide of where it shows.
  • The PNG is 64×64, ready for Java. Apply it under your profile at minecraft.net, matching the classic or slim choice you made here.
  • Nothing is uploaded. The canvas lives in this tab and the download is written here; a skin you open or draw never leaves your machine.
